How To Take Care of Your Piercing With Soap
WASH YOUR NEW PIERCING [WITH CLEAN HANDS] TWICE A DAY WITH ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP.
THE PROPER PROCEDURE FOR WASHING IS AS FOLLOWS: MAKE A SOLUTION OF SOAPY WATER
AND ANTIBACTERIAL HAND SOAP IN A SMALL CONTAINER. APPLY THE SOAPY SOLUTION
TO THE PIERCING WITH A COTTON SWAB. ALLOW THE SOLUTION TO SIT LONG ENOUGH TO
SOFTEN ANY DRIED MATTER WHICH MAY HAVE ACCUMULATED ON THE RING. CLEAN ALL EXPOSED
PARTS OF THE RING AND THE PIERCED SITE. ROTATE THE RING WHILE WASHING IT AS
YOU NEED TO WASH THE INSIDE OF THE PIERCING AS WELL AS THE OUTSIDE. RINSE THOROUGHLY
WITH FRESH WATER. AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED SOAP YOU COULD USE
THE FOLLOWING; DR. BRONNERS CASTILE SOAP, BETADINE, PROVIDONE IODINE OR HIBICLENS
FOR GOLD.
DO NOT…USE RUBBING ALCOHOL OR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE DO NOT……APPLY
ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENTS TO YOUR PIERCING. DO NOT.... HANDLE YOUR PIERCING WITH
UNWASHED HANDS. AVOID....... ORAL CONTACT. YOU MAY USE BACTINE, OR A COMPRESS
WITH SALT WATER.
WELL MAINTAINED PIERCINGS CAN HEAL IN 5-6 WEEKS. IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR IT
TO TAKE LONGER, PARTICULARLY IF THE PIERCING IS SUBJECT TO HEAVY ABUSE OR HAS
